We Continue to Support the Following Initiatives:
Optimize Use of Parish Public Libraries
Work with public schools and public libraries to fix issues resulting from: 1) Shut down of libraries in public schools; 2) Working hour mismatch between time schools and libraries close making it difficult for children to use libraries after school; 3) Perceived disparities in equipment and services between main library in Marksville and satellite libraries around parish.
Pre-College Testing Support
Work with school system and community-based donors to create and provide long-term financial support to provide students with trained tutors and equipment to assist them in making significant improvements in ACT/SAT test scores.
University Visits
Work with school system to continue student trips to LSU campus. Also, expand visits to LSUA, Southern, and other state schools. Also support Career Days.
Vocational Education Support
Work with public school system and Vo-Tech system to enhance interest and participation of students in careers in trades.
